Survey findings: Reflections on 2009

For all women currently working in local government, 2010 brings a variety of events Australia-wide, with the aim of raising awareness of the opportunities for, benefits of, and the need for increasing the participation of women in leadership and management roles within local government. More

Australian Government initiatives for women: 2010 and beyond
Through the Department of Families, Housing, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs (FaHCSIA), the government stands firmly committed in supporting women to take up leadership and decision making roles, including the number of women appointed to boards and other decision making bodies. Some of these initiatives include increasing the representation of women in leadership roles in Local Government. More

2010 Victorian Women's Leadership Grants
A $500,000 grants program has recently been launched by the Victorian Government, with the aim of increasing the capacity of women to participate in decision making and leadership opportunities, increase diversity among Victoria’s female leaders and promoting the achievements of women in civic and political life.
