Leadership Programs

Women & Leadership Australia delivers a highly regarded suite of professional development programs throughout both metropolitan and regional Australia. Whilst the building of effective personal leadership capability remains the focus of WLA events and programs, WLA also provides support in other aspects, vital for both career and life contentment.

Based on extensive research and in-depth consultations with many thousands of past attendees, each program responds to the challenges faced by women at various points on their leadership journey.

WLA programs are also designed to actively encourage high levels of participant interaction. By allowing attendees to connect deeply and purposefully, WLA is developing a widespread national culture of women supporting women.
The Advanced Leadership Program is designed to support the rapid advancement of high potential female leaders from all sectors and industries. During a career-defining 12-month journey, participants accelerate their own career progression and become part of an exclusive cohort of female leaders.

To support the intake of program participants, WLA will award numerous scholarships for the Advanced Leadership Program for 2012.
The Leadership Journey is a one-day, skills development program developed by WLA to meet a broad range of needs for today's dynamic leaders. Addressing areas such as communication style, resilience, personal values and leadership presence and influence the Leadership Journey offers a potent mix of theory and strategy for addressing the myriad challenges that women face in the contemporary workplace.
During this national gathering of business, government & academic stakeholders, participants will have an enviable opportunity to uncover the facts about gender equity and its importance in the continued economic & social growth of Australia. Coming together for the first time, key stakeholders will talk openly around the current state of the nation, provide actual global comparisons & explore expert theories on where we are heading.
During four half-day workshops split over an eight-week period, a small group of participants undergo an intimate and powerful journey of personal and professional discovery. As the program develops, the group establishes itself as a cohesive and supportive network that provides a platform for ongoing development and support long after the official workshops concludes.
The flagship program in the Women and Leadership Australia calendar, the two-day Symposium is held in seven key locations for over 1000 attendees. Each year, Women & Leadership Australia hand-picks respected female leaders to deliver insightful keynote addresses and discuss their inspirational leadership journeys. For participants, the Symposium provides a unique opportunity to interact with Australia's best female talent and gain expert advice on successful leadership practice. Additionally the events have become powerful business development and networking opportunities for the Australian business community.
This annual two-day national event deals with leadership and career opportunities in the context of life outside of Australia's capital cities. Drawing participants from every state and territory, the convention highlights the amazing diversity of Australia's regional and rural women, and provides a platform for them to stay abreast of current leadership theory and practice. With a focus on connecting and networking, the convention delivers an experience that is at once challenging and life-affirming, provocative and inspiring.
Women & Leadership Australia is active in over 30 regional locations throughout the country with programs designed to develop the leadership capability of Australia's regional and rural women. The one-day interactive forums represent a dynamic journey of self-reflection, skills development and empowerment within a supportive local environment.
Leadership in Focus provides a unique platform for participants to explore the secrets of effective leadership. The one-day program comprises a series of live interviews, in which high level leaders are encouraged to share the key elements of their personal leadership styles. Unlike a scripted presentation, the interview format provides an open and unrestrained snapshot of the subject and in so doing reveals the true essence of these inspirational people.
WLA regularly delivers in-house leadership training to clients throughout Australia. Additionally, many of WLA's public workshops can be delivered in-house providing organisations with an exclusively unique opportunity to reward and develop valued employees. Among the significant benefits of running a program in-house is the opportunity to contextualise the program to the needs of your employees and create a shared language essential in developing a companywide culture of support and development.
