Leadership Programs

Women & Leadership Australia delivers a highly regarded suite of professional development programs throughout both metropolitan and regional Australia. Whilst the building of effective personal leadership capability remains the focus of WLA events and programs, WLA also provides support in other aspects, vital for both career and life contentment.

Based on extensive research and in-depth consultations with many thousands of past attendees, each program responds to the challenges faced by women at various points on their leadership journey.

WLA programs are also designed to actively encourage high levels of participant interaction. By allowing attendees to connect deeply and purposefully, WLA is developing a widespread national culture of women supporting women.
Leadership in Focus provides a unique platform for participants to learn the secrets of effective leadership from Australia’s most inspiring women. The one-day program comprises a series of interviews, conducted live on stage, by an expert interviewer, in which high level female leaders are encouraged to share the key elements of their personal leadership styles. Unlike a scripted presentation, the interview format provides an open and unrestrained snapshot of the subject and in so doing reveals the true essence of these inspirational women.
The two-day Convention deals with leadership in the context of life outside of Australia’s capital cities and provides a platform to stay abreast of current leadership theory and practice. Drawing participants from every state and territory, the convention highlights the amazing diversity of Australia’s regional and rural women, and celebrates their unique skills and achievements. With a focus on connecting and networking, the convention Gala Dinner delivers an experience that is at once challenging and life-affirming, provocative and inspiring.
The flagship program in the Women and Leadership Australia calendar. The two-day Symposium, held in five key Australian locations for over 700 attendees, is Australia’s largest female leadership congregation.  Each year WLA hand-picks the country’s most successful and respected female leaders to deliver insightful keynote addresses and discuss their inspirational leadership journeys. For participants, the Symposium provides a unique opportunity to interact with Australia’s best female talent and gain expert advice on successful leadership practice.
During four half-day workshops split over an eight-week period, a small group of participants undergo an intimate and powerful journey of personal and professional discovery. As the program develops, the group establishes itself as a cohesive and supportive network that provides a platform for ongoing development and support long after the official workshops concludes.
WLA is active in many key regional locations throughout the country with programs designed to develop the leadership capability of Australia’s regional and rural women. The one-day interactive forums represent a dynamic journey of self-reflection, skills development and empowerment within a supportive local environment.
The Leadership Toolkit is a highly interactive program designed to equip participants with proven methods for dealing with key leadership challenges including influencing, conflict management, negotiating and coaching.
The one-day Leadership Voice program provides a unique opportunity for new and aspiring managers to explore their personal leadership potential in a supportive, dynamic peer group environment. The Leadership Voice enables individuals to identify and define their personal leadership style and build practical strategies for overcoming key workplace challenges.
