Supporting the upcoming Australian Regional Women Leaders Convention 2010 is a natural fit for St John of God Health Care given our strong regional presence in Western Australia and Victoria, and our predominantly female workforce (84% of our 8,800 employees are female, with 70% of our managers being women).

Our success in supporting women working across our network of hospitals, pathology and outreach services in Australia, New Zealand and the wider Asia Pacific region is reflected in our receipt, for the 7th consecutive year, of the Government’s Employer of Choice for Women award.

Our focus on leadership, formation and development gives our women a distinct career advantage. It also better equips them to become involved – either in their professional or personal capacity - in their own communities. Many of our female leaders represent us on local health or community bodies, or are involved in broader community causes such as social advocacy and the arts; two areas that as an organisation we actively support.

We are sure that our delegates to the Regional Women Leaders Convention will further enhance their leadership capabilities given the wonderful opportunity to network and forge relationships with peers from other regional organisations across Australia.
